Trying out commuting for today and tomorrow. Although it's about as easy a commute as available from Redhill - just a single train up to Blackfriars. :-)
The commuting is in honour of LTVConf.
As always, I found it difficult approaching people at the networking breakfast before things got started. The pastries were great though.
I last attended LTVConf two years …
Far, far too much time spent reading emails and articles that span off from that, covering topics from property training scams through to compromised python libraries.
I did also look into DropzoneJS which was mentioned on the podcast I discovered a few days ago.
Also spent around an hour of the morning on consultancy projects - replying to questions and …
Finally dragged myself out of the house and walked into Kingsgate to work today - I'm going to the Redhill Business Guild meeting at the end of the day and thought it would be better to get the walking done before the day gets too hot!
Started the day with a bit of chatter to other people at Kingsgate and …
Having started a bit late - it's a bank holiday, so perhaps I shouldn't be working at all(!), which means there's no school to force deadlines and structure to the morning - dealing with the weekend email took a while and involved some digressions.
New interesting looking SaaS podcast.
Signed up to an HMRC webinar on making tax digital (something I …
Started the day walking Edward to school, started rather late so it was a bit of a power walk - the best way to start the day, hot and sweaty!
Had a rental house viewing booked for the afternoon though so went there next to work in my "mobile office" (inflatable chair plus 4G mobile hotspot) for the day.
London, as seen from the London Eye, thankfully on a clear day before our Merlin passes expired.

RLA response to banning letting agent fees.
Tenant fees should definitely be displayed now, but I don't think that means they shouldn't also be banned. Not sure "the market" is managing to keep them to sensible levels on it's own.
Getting references is a vital process to help protect the landlord. Reasonable argument for this to be a tenant …
I've been keeping a daily (work-ish) journal since the start of May. It's now the 25th of May and a little of what I've written might be interesting, so I've decided to go back and retrospectively publish my existing journals.
I don't have a structure for these journals, either in content or layout. I have, and will, write …
The sun is well and truly out today so it has to be another sunny picture this week.

The well known and widely used Property Bee browser plugin has been officially retired by it's makers. It hadn't been updated in a long while and the latest version available requires a very old and insecure version of Firefox.
Thankfully there's now a new browser extension available, for modern browsers, that provides very similar (and some extra) features. The PaTMa …
It's yet another overcast day in Redhill so here's a nice bright photo of flowers and greenery for contrast.

It's our second sunny day in a row, so here's a nice sunny picture of Priory Park in Reigate.

It's been over three years since I last wrote about the podcasts I listen to, so I think it's past time for a revisit.
Looking back at my list from 2014, I think the only ones I've stopped listening to are those that have stopped publishing content. I've certainly added a few more to my regular listening list though, especially …
I'm working the bank holiday today to get lots of Property and Tenant Manager writing done, so a picture of a house seemed appropriate. It's just a random house I passed and thought looked interesting.

Just flowers and bees today.

This is a building that caught my eye while I was on a trip to Poland (near Krakow) to visit the place my grandfather parachuted from his (soon to be crashed) bomber in the second word war.

A wintry afternoon view over Brighton.

A nice sunny, reflective view of a hotel we visited in February last year, to brighten up the overcast and snowy day today.

A mix of things in todays photo - greenery, clouds, a trebuchet and the joisting performance arena all at Warwick Castle.
