I'm running 10km on Sunday!

Some while ago I realised that I hadn't done much exercise for the prior year or so and it was starting to take its toll. And by "much", I really mean "any at all".

Working from home is great, I can work longer and see my family more, I damage the environment less and it costs less. However it means that I don't even get the forced exercise of walking to and from a train station every day!

So to help encourage (force) me to actually do some exercise I was convinced to sign up for a 10km run. This isn't my first 10km run, but I was younger and starting from a much fitter level then. Sadly I don't believe I will be beating my previous time.

For the last 3-4 months I have been training. Rather slowly, randomly and generally not nearly as much as I should. However I'm now out of time and this Sunday I will be running 10km along the Brighton and Hove seafront.

I'm doing this run to get fitter, not to collect sponsorship, however if you want to support Cancer Research UK, then the option is available. Please do not feel obliged to sponsor me though - it really wont make me run any faster!

My target for this run is to complete it in under 1 hour. I'm sure I should be able to do that, but whether I actually can on the day (especially given the expected wet weather) we'll have to see!
